Renown for its style and glamour, the Ritz in London has introduced a casual dress code for the first time in its 95-year history. The Rivoli Bar, designed by Tessa Kennedy, is styled after the more luxurious Art Deco designs of the 1920s and is the latest tranche of the hotel's £40m, six-year refurbishment programme. In keeping with the rest of the hotel, the bar has a formal setting with an onyx marble top bar and a gold leaf Art Deco ceiling, but has a thoroughly relaxed dress code. Putting on the Ritz can now mean putting on a t-shirt, jeans and even sneakers, said Sarah Manser of the Ritz. It's a place where people can really relax.
